Views of Osman Akan’s ‘Third Bridge’

Part of the City Parks and Recreation Department’s citywide exhibit “Art in the Parks: Celebrating 40 Years of Art,” Osman Akan’s “The Third Bridge” was installed mid-October between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges on the Brooklyn bank of the East River. It will be on view until January 2008. The site-specific work of fiber optic “grass” temporarily surrounds the pathways of Brooklyn Bridge Park on the East River waterfront near the Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO.
